Durant Brothers series...

The Durant Brothers trilogy is wrapping up.

Book 3 will be out August, but until then...

Forrest Durant felt like beating his head against the wall. The only problem was he wasn’t sure it would help or just damage his head. He definitely needed to let his bear out and go for a run before he did or said something he didn’t really mean or at least shouldn’t say out loud because it would be hurtful to the people he cared about. Maybe the freedom that came with roaming the woods would help his mood.

He knew what was wrong.

The desire for a mate and family grew stronger each day, and being around Ben and Ivy didn’t help. Even after being mated for two years, they constantly touched and kissed each other. Forrest was happy for them, but he was also envious of them. He wanted what they had.  He wanted a mate and hopefully a cub or two and the waiting for them to come into his life wasn’t helping his mood.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Emma Starr pulled the last book out of the cardboard box and put it on the shelf with the rest of the books she had just shelved. She stared at the romance books and sighed. Normally she loved stocking new books, especially romance books, and setting up the small displays throughout her bookstore. It gave her a chance to daydream about her future…a future just a couple of years ago she never dreamed she would have. But today she was struggling to keep her mind on the daily tasks needed to run the store and away from the nightmares she started having a few nights ago.

For several weeks her nights had been filled with wonderfully hot dreams starring a very sexy bear shifter—a bear shifter who was her heart’s mate. Emma smiled. The goddess hadn’t forgotten about her like her aunt and cousin were constantly telling her as she grew up in their house.

Emma was excited and couldn’t wait to finally meet her mate. She hoped he would be able to look past the scars running down the left side of her face and disappearing under her clothes. For years she had protected herself and her heart from the cruelty of others especially her aunt and cousin who she was forced to live with after her parents were killed in the car wreck that had left her with the scars.

But as much as she worried about what her mate thought about her scars, she had a much bigger worry that was eating away at her heart and soul.

Her mate was in mortal danger.

Celebrate Christmas in July with WOLF FOR CHRISTMAS!

Christmas in July
It sounds silly to some people, but to others, it's a really cool thing. This week I've been watching the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. Love stories. Christmas miracles. The spirit of Christmas. They've all been an inspiration.

I've even seen some planners who are doing Christmas in July planner layouts.

I've said it before, but I love the holidays from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas!

This year for Christmas in July, I've put Wolf for Christmas on sale for .99¢.

It's a second chance story about a wolf shifter and the female he loved but years ago hurt her.

A letter to Santa brings the only man Melanie ever loved back into her life, but the reunion is bittersweet. Melanie desperately wants him, but she knows he does not want her. Finn rejected her in high school.

Forced on vacation, Finn finds himself face-to-face with the only woman he will ever love, and the one woman he hurt the most with his cruel rejection.

Can Finn prove to Melanie that he really loves her?

Will Melanie follow her heart and give Finn a second chance?

Spring and Snakes

Spring is finally here!
And unfortunately, the snakes are here too.

Some of you may remember several months ago when I told you about my experience with a coral snake in the house. Honestly, I've been a little paranoid since. I really don't want to find another one in the house.

My "backyard" is basically a huge grassy field with a fence dividing the property I live on from a huge field, but one that actually has crops growing in it. There is a grounds guy who mows the field, but with the rain we've had, the grass and weeds are growing like crazy. DH usually walks the perimeter, but he hasn't done it lately because he's already come upon two snakes partially hidden in the grass.  And then yesterday, he was walking the paved road that circles through the neighborhood and came upon the a rattlesnake that someone had run over. I know, that's just three snakes, but that doesn't count the ones his coworkers have come across.

Yes, we have common grass snakes which are harmless, but the snakes that are making an appearance are rattlesnakes, copperheads, and coral snakes. The first two are aggressive, but all three are poisonous. Because of the number of rattlesnakes, DH as has wondered if there's a den around here. I hope not, but I wonder...

Backlist: Surviving Ivy

He is a bear shifter.
She is a witch.
They shouldn’t be mates, but they can’t live without each other.

Ivy Braxton has almost no magical skills. She is a klutz and has a curvy figure. Her parents ignored her and deemed her not good enough to be an active member of the Braxton Coven. But when Ivy starts having nightmares about her mate being killed by a demon, she is willing to risk everything to protect him, even if he rejects her because she is a witch.

Ben Anderson never expected his mate to be a witch. But the curvy little witch is his and he will do whatever it takes to protect Ivy Braxton from the demon that is after her, even if he has to give his life in order for her to live.

What I'm Doing...

I'm planning out my week. The next few weeks are going to be crazy busy.

I'm eating homemade meatloaf today. That was the large lunch. We have leftovers for supper and for lunches tomorrow. I like making larger lunches so that it covers at least lunches the next day. It's the easy, no-brainer prep for Monday lunches.

I'm drinking lots of water and coffee. Yesterday, I brewed some green tea and put orange slices in it with no sweetener. I liked the change.

I'm wearing layers. I started out with long sleeves this morning. Went to short sleeves for the afternoon, but now the sun is going down it's getting cooler so I'll probably put long sleeves back on.

I'm wanting to go on a vacation, but it's going to be a few months before that can happen. We're still waiting to see what's going to happen with DH's job.

Have a great week!

Quarter Goals, Successes, and Failures

Tomorrow is the last day in the 1st quarter of 2018. The three months have gone by so quick. I'm in the process of reflecting on how the 1st quarter went and planning for the 2nd quarter.

There are a several things I can check as done for the first quarter.

  • Started writing Hank's story (Durant Brothers, book 3).
  • Published PROTECTED HEARTS.
  • Created and published paperbacks for
    • MATED HEARTS.
    • PROTECTED HEARTS,
    • SURVIVING IVY, and
    • LUCIFER.
I still have a few things that I didn't get done.
  • I didn't finish writing Hank's story.
  • The outlines for Phoenix's story and the next book in the Undead series are not finished.

I got about 10,000 words into Hank's story when I realized I didn't like the story as I had it outlined. I stepped back from the story and pulled out my notes. When I wrote the outline, I deviated from my notes. So I went back and rewrote the outline. The story now works, but it means I'm scrapping what I had originally wrote and am starting over.

So in the 2nd quarter, I'll be writing Hank's story. I will also be working on the outlines for Phoenix's story and book 2 in the Undead series.

For the 2nd quarter, I'm sitting down and breaking down my projects into the tasks that must be done in order to accomplish them. I'm hoping this will help me stay on track better than I did last quarter.  I'm also going to rewrite the running list of projects I had planned for 2018 so that I can check off each one as I complete it.
